Minds implode as Newt Gingrich urges GOP to back gay marriage

He's surprised just about everyone on Twitter by hitting reverse on his anti-gay marriage stance and urging the Republican Party to "accommodate and deal with reality." While maintaining his view that church-sanctioned marriage should apply only to heterosexuals, he said the GOP needed to make a distinction between a church marriage and a legal document issued by the state. "The reality is that in a number of states ... gay relationships will be legal — period," he said.  MSN
